For the dinner table

The khutbah reminds us that being able to remember Allah is itself a great blessing. It tells us to listen to our moral conscience, turn away from wrong, and return to Allah when we slip. As a new year begins, we can improve through small steps such as adding prayers, staying longer in the masjid, reading Quran, doing adhkar, helping the mosque, and asking Allah to improve our worship. The goal is not only Jannah or avoiding the Fire, but loving and honoring Allah because He is the One we worship. Our time is our life, so we should use it for beneficial deeds.
