For the dinner table
The khateeb reflected on Surah 95 and connected its opening oaths to places where Allah’s prophets received revelation. He reminded us that we belong to a legacy of prophets and that our bodies, minds, and ability to recognize truth are gifts from Allah. We show gratitude by using those gifts to obey Him, care for others, and develop good character. He encouraged us to begin good habits now, explaining that Allah can keep rewarding deeds we regularly did when illness or old age prevents us from continuing. He also reminded us that Allah knows our hearts and actions and is the most just judge, and he prayed that our families would grow in faith and help make the world better.
- What is one gift Allah gave you that you could use to help someone tomorrow?
- What small good deed could we make a regular family habit?
- How could we help an older relative feel cared for and included?
