For the dinner table

The khutbah reminded us that death is certain, but its time and place are hidden from us. Because we do not know when our appointment will come, we should remember death, visit graveyards, and loosen our grip on temporary worldly pleasures. We should repent, worship Allah, and do righteous deeds now instead of assuming we have plenty of time. Death is not the end; it leads to the grave, resurrection, judgment, and the final hope of Jannah.

  1. What is one good deed you would not want to postpone?
  2. How can our family remember the Hereafter in a healthy, hopeful way?
  3. What worldly distraction could we hold more lightly this week?
