For the dinner table

The new Hijri year begins with the Hijrah, when the Prophet and his companions left Mecca for Medina and built a strong Muslim community. The Muhajirin showed truthful faith through sacrifice, while the Ansar welcomed them generously and put others before themselves. The khutbah teaches that loving the Prophet, learning about him, sending blessings upon him, and following his example can change our character and help us raise righteous homes. In Muharram, we should try to fast as our health allows, especially Ashura, and add a day before or after when possible. We can begin the year by asking Allah to purify our hearts and fill our families with love for the Messenger and commitment to his Sunnah.

  1. What is one quality of the Muhajirin or Ansar that our family could practice this week?
