For the dinner table

The khateeb reminded us that holding fast to Allah begins with holding fast to the Qur'an. He encouraged us to understand, reflect on, and live by its guidance, rather than making our Ramadan goal only a number of completed readings. The Qur'an can help us strengthen what we do well, correct our shortcomings, and notice responsibilities we have overlooked. He also encouraged us to let its words move our hearts and shape our behavior. As Ramadan approaches, we can prepare by finding our honor in Allah, thanking Him for our successes, and turning to Him with our fears and worries.

  1. When something goes well for you, how could you show gratitude to Allah and kindness to others?
  2. What worry would you like to bring to Allah in dua tonight?
