Today’s khutbah drew lessons from the Prophet Muhammad’s night journey and ascent through the heavens. The khateeb reminded us of Allah’s mercy: five daily prayers carry the reward of fifty, and prayer deserves a central place in our lives. He encouraged us to do our best while trusting Allah with the future and what we cannot control. He also reminded us that Muslims believe in all the prophets and encouraged us to help our neighbors understand our faith through conversation. Finally, he explained that helping someone includes stopping them from being unjust, so caring for one another also means guiding each other toward what is right.
