For the dinner table

Today's khutbah taught that love in Islam begins with loving Allah and His Messenger, then extends to our families and the wider ummah. It is more than a feeling: it should lift, heal, connect, and appear in obedience, peace, mercy, and good character. We were encouraged to tell brothers and sisters that we love them for Allah's sake, greet and embrace one another, and remember that life is short. Marriage should be built on affection, mercy, and tranquility, while families should learn and practice Islam together. By trusting Allah, loving His creation, and seeking Jannah, we can help strengthen the ummah.

  1. How can we show love for Allah through something we do this week?
  2. Who could we encourage by telling them we love them for Allah's sake?
  3. What would make our family more peaceful and merciful?
