For the dinner table

The khateeb reminded us that everyday acts of worship can erase minor sins: going to congregational prayer, staying in the masjid afterward, and making wudu properly even when it is difficult. He encouraged us to remember that wudu cleanses us spiritually as well as physically. Feeding others, speaking gently, and praying at night while others sleep are deeds that raise our ranks in Paradise and express generosity, good character, and sincerity. Our ability to do good is a gift from Allah, so we should ask Him for help and treat people in need with love. The khateeb encouraged us to learn the Prophet’s dua and make it part of our daily lives, asking for goodness, forgiveness, mercy, and Allah’s love.
