The Imam’s return requires a ready humanity
“The revolution of our 12th Imam alayhi salam is no different.”
The 12th Imam’s global governance will emerge when humanity becomes spiritually and morally ready after exhausting unjust systems, while believers should prepare through conscientious living and a serious Ramadan.
The khutbah in 5 steps
- Explains that the Imam’s return requires humanity’s global desire, maturity, and readiness for transformative change.
- Identifies materialism, nationalism, race, borders, power, parties, and ideologies as divisions that produce corruption.
- Uses Quranic teaching and reports from Imams al-Sadiq and al-Baqir to argue that competing systems must exhaust themselves before the final government appears.
- Announces revised GTA prayer timings for Ramadan based on more precise Fajr observations and advises local adjustments and caution when fasting and breaking the fast.
- Encourages families to welcome Ramadan as a gift and pursue passionate, spiritual, high-quality fasting.
In the khateeb's words
“The revolution of our 12th Imam alayhi salam is no different. It depends on the desire and the maturity and the preparedness of humanity to want what the Imam alayhi salam is delivering or promising.”
“As long as society is trapped in selfish materialism, detached from their spiritual origins where we are chasing happiness here and then chasing happiness somewhere else, this God-centered global system cannot exist.”
“The expectation is that we try to make this Ramadan and all Ramadans also very good. We want to return back to Allah not mediocre fasts but beautiful fasts.”
For the dinner table
Sheikh Jaffer explained that the 12th Imam’s mission is for all humanity, and that people must truly want and be ready for his just leadership. He said humanity needs to recognize the failures of unjust systems and move beyond selfishness and loyalties that divide us. He also reminded us to care for people approaching Ramadan without enough food or shelter. In discussing local prayer-time updates, he encouraged careful observance and reassured listeners about their previous fasts. He closed by inviting us to welcome Ramadan’s blessings, mercy, and forgiveness with excitement at home and sincere, beautiful fasts.
- What is one way we can show kindness to someone outside our usual circle?
- How could we help someone who does not have enough food for Ramadan?
- What could we do together to make Ramadan feel special and bring us closer to Allah?
