For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah reminded us that people often notice the one missing tile instead of the many good ones. We were encouraged to appreciate Allah’s blessings, distinguish needs from luxuries, and avoid constantly comparing ourselves with those who have more. The khateeb taught that life brings hardship, but sincere dua is a believer’s powerful way to turn to Allah. He asked us to make time each day for dua, give sadaqah when someone is ill, and pray for our children.

  1. What is one blessing you might overlook because you are focused on something missing?
  2. When could our family make a few minutes for dua together?
  3. What is one dua you would make for someone you love?
