“Whatever is written, it is going to happen.”

The khateeb, at 25:24

For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah reminded us that we learn about life after death through the Qur'an and the teachings of our beloved Prophet. As the community mourned brother Muhammad, the khateeb encouraged trust in Allah’s wisdom, even when we do not understand why something happened. He explained that accepting Allah’s decree still leaves room for sadness, tears, and grief. The tributes remembered brother Muhammad’s kindness, generosity, and care for people around him. We can carry these reminders home by praying for him, supporting his family, and practicing kindness in our own lives.

  1. What is one kind action from the memories of brother Muhammad that you would like to practice?
  2. What helps you feel cared for when you are sad or missing someone?
  3. How could our family help someone who is grieving this week?
