Talk about it at home

For the dinner table

The khutbah begins by grieving the suffering of people in Gaza and the world’s failure to respond adequately. It reminds us that Allah sees oppression even when justice seems delayed, and tyrants do not have the final word. Quranic examples show that powerful oppressors before us were eventually held accountable. We are asked to keep making dua, speak up, boycott support for oppression, and teach our children about what is happening. The message is to keep hope alive while using the responsibilities and influence we have to help others.

  1. What is one way our family can remember people in Gaza this week?
  2. How can we speak up about injustice with courage and wisdom?
  3. What does it mean to hope in Allah while still taking action?
