The Quran is meant to guide life
“Everything comes in our mind except Allah.”
The Qur'an is meant to be understood and lived as divine guidance, not merely honored as a source of blessing, and doing so can strengthen prayer, families, faith, and communal unity.
The khutbah in 6 steps
- Introduces the Qur'an as guidance, supported by verses and a hadith about learning and teaching it.
- Argues that the Qur'an's purpose is guidance, not merely respect, memorization, or blessing.
- Explains that understanding Qur'anic meanings can improve concentration and awareness during salah.
- Urges families to connect children and youth with the Qur'an to preserve faith and unity.
- Reminds listeners about taqwa, worldly life's transience, accountability, and sending blessings on the Prophet.
- Closes with supplications and announces a Darul Quran and mosque project in McDonough, Georgia.
In the khateeb's words
“but what is the main purpose of this Quran main purpose of this book and that one is the guidance”
“but unfortunately when we start salah everything comes except Allah everything comes in our mind except Allah”
For the dinner table
The khateeb reminded us that the Quran is meant to guide our lives, not simply sit in our homes as a blessing or be recited without understanding. He connected focus in salah with learning the meanings of what we say, so we remember that we are standing before Allah. He urged us to bring ourselves, our children, and the next generation closer to the Quran, especially when young people have serious questions about faith. He also emphasized that the Quran can unite people. At the end, he announced a 10-acre Darul Quran project and a planned first masjid in McDonough, Georgia, asking the community to support it generously.
- What is one short surah or ayah you would like to understand better?
- What helps you focus when you pray?
- How can our family make the Quran part of our daily life?
