For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah reminded us that good wishes need sincere intentions and real action. Strong determination begins in the heart and helps us care for our prayers, keep learning our deen, and stay patient in doing good. The khateeb encouraged us to be truthful, let go of grudges, and apply reminders to ourselves first. He taught that the Hereafter should guide our goals, so worldly things stay in our hands without taking over our hearts. We are human and need Allah’s help, so we can ask Him for strength and steadfastness while taking practical steps. He also remembered the people of Gaza and asked the congregation to make dua for them.

  1. What is one good thing you have been wishing to do, and what small step could you take this week?
  2. What could help you remember Allah when a game, a possession, or an achievement feels like the most important thing?
  3. What would you like to ask Allah to help you keep working on?
