For the dinner table

Imam Kalim reminded us to run towards Allah for safety, guidance, and help in every part of life. He encouraged families to study Surah Ad-Dariyat and reflect on the signs of Allah in creation and within ourselves. Remembering that we will return to Allah should move us to pray, give charity within our means, and use what we learn to help others. When someone is struggling, he urged us to be kind and supportive instead of looking down on them. He also encouraged us to keep our connection with the Quran after Ramadan, even by reading a small amount, and to notice when entertainment distracts us from remembering Allah.

  2. What could you do to help someone who is having a hard time without making them feel judged?
