Quotes
In the khateeb's words
“Be accountable of your life before you're being accounted for. Meaning Allah accounts you. towards your death, the year ending, how did you spend this year?”
“Chances to come close to Allah. Chances for yourself, for ourselves to get forgiven. Chances to obey your parents. Chances to become righteous.”
“his house was taken he went through a lot of things he used to say my jannah is in my heart”
“He showed us so many small, so easy sin forgiven and get to Jannah. Make it happen.”
Talk about it at home
For the dinner table
The khateeb encouraged everyone to use the end of the year as a time for honest self-accounting. He reminded us that worldly life passes quickly, while our deeds continue toward the Hereafter. We should repent, repair relationships, protect our prayers, and begin our mornings with Fajr and remembrance. When we put Allah first, He can bring order and contentment to our worldly lives. The khutbah also asked us to remember and pray for people suffering in Gaza, Palestine, Sudan, and elsewhere.
- What is one small prayer or good habit you could start tomorrow morning?
- Who is someone we can remember in our du'a this week, and why?
- What could it mean to have a heart that feels rich even when life is difficult?
