For the dinner table

The khutbah invites us to look closely at the Qur'an, especially its repeated phrase “if you see.” These verses picture death, resurrection, standing before Allah, and entering Hell, reminding us that every person will answer for what they chose. The message is not to wait for certainty on that Day, because while we are alive, repentance and change are still possible. We should keep learning and reflecting on the Qur'an, believe in the Day of Judgment, and live as though its warnings and promises are real. We should also take responsibility for our own choices instead of blaming leaders or followers.

  1. What is one choice you would make differently if you remembered that you can always repent while you are alive?
  2. How can our family make Qur'an reflection part of our week?
  3. When can following a leader become an excuse, and how can we take responsibility for our own choices?
