For the dinner table

The khutbah reminds us that life brings both hard days and good days. When times are hard, we practice patience; when blessings come, we thank Allah. Gratitude starts by noticing what we have and remembering that it ultimately comes from Allah, not entitlement. We show thanks by using our abilities for good, sharing with people in need, speaking up for justice, protecting our guidance, and thanking those who help us. Even small acts of gratitude can keep our hearts connected to Allah and to people who are suffering.

  1. What is one blessing you usually overlook?
  2. How could our family share a blessing with someone in need?
  3. Who has helped you recently, and how could you thank them?
