For the dinner table

The khutbah teaches that nearly everything good in our lives is a blessing from Allah, including life, health, family, shelter, and wealth. Shukr means noticing these blessings, thanking Allah with our words, and using our bodies and possessions in ways He loves. Gratitude also means avoiding sins and remembering that having more things does not automatically mean Allah is pleased with us. We should thank people who help or give to us, because gratitude builds love, humility, and unity. Even though we can never fully repay Allah’s blessings, we should keep trying to live thankfully.

  1. What is one small blessing you noticed today that you usually overlook?
  2. How can you show gratitude with your actions, not only by saying thank you?
  3. Who helped you recently, and how could you thank that person?
