For the dinner table

Today’s khutbahs reminded us that dua is a direct conversation with Allah and a source of hope. We should make dua sincerely, with attention, in good times and hardship, while asking for what is lawful and beneficial. The second khutbah taught that maintaining family ties is an act of worship and can bring blessing into our lives. Even when relatives disappoint us, we can keep the door open without accepting abuse, using wise boundaries when needed. Before the day ends, we should choose one relative, make the first move, repair any wrong we caused, and help reconcile others.

  1. When has making dua helped you feel hopeful or strong?
  2. Who is one relative you could contact this week?
  3. How can we help two family members make peace?
