For the dinner table

The khateeb asked us to notice harmful patterns around us and take responsibility for strengthening our families. He focused on the importance of fathers fulfilling their role and the struggles facing children growing up without a father at home. He reminded us that caring for families goes beyond our own household: other families in the community deserve our help too. He encouraged us to be honest about our difficulties and seek Allah's help. He also called on men to hold one another accountable and offer sincere advice, while taking responsibility for their own actions.
