For the dinner table

Death is part of Allah’s decree, and the khutbah reminds us to accept it while continuing our responsibilities in this world. When someone is grieving, believers should stand with them and support them as one body. We should especially honor our mothers and fathers, and that honor continues after they die through dua, keeping promises, kindness to their friends, and visiting relatives. The congregation was asked to pray for Umm Sa'eed and join her funeral prayer. The khutbah also included prayers for people in Gaza and Lebanon, reminding us to keep suffering communities in our duas.

  2. How can we honor a parent or grandparent who has died?
  3. What does it mean to care about the afterlife while still doing our work here?
