- The khutbah closes with exhortations, blessings, and prayers for Muslims suffering in several regions.
In the khateeb's words
“Additionally, We must love one another. Our love for one another is an obligation. I'll say it again. Our love for one another”
“Hatred of one another, well the Adab Allah is the razor. doesn't raise hair, doesn't shave hair, it raises deen, meaning strips it down, totally eradicates it from the surface of the earth”
“If any of us cheat one another, that's not spreading As-Salaam.”
For the dinner table
Today’s khutbah taught that loving Allah, His Messenger, and fellow believers is part of real faith. The speaker warned that envy and hatred can hollow out a community and even strip away its religion. He encouraged us to pardon people, pray for them instead of speaking badly about them, and spread salam as real safety through our words and actions. We should make sure others are safe from our tongues, hands, cheating, and harm. This week, we can greet people warmly, repair strained relationships, and remember the sick, deceased, and suffering in our prayers.
- What does it look like to make someone feel safe with our words and actions?
- When have you turned a hurtful thought into a prayer for someone?
- How can our family spread salam this week beyond saying the greeting?
