The khateeb taught that Allah created us to worship Him, and that worship grows deeper as we learn who Allah is. He invited us to notice signs of Allah's greatness in our bodies, the natural world, and the heavens, and to learn about Allah through the Qur'an. When we truly revere Allah, we take His commands and prohibitions seriously rather than measuring sins by how small they seem. The clearest test comes when something we strongly desire conflicts with what Allah has forbidden. We should keep building that reverence and choose obedience when temptation appears.

  1. Where can we notice signs of Allah's greatness in everyday life?
  2. What should we do when something we really want conflicts with Allah's guidance?
  3. What does it mean to treat a “small” sin seriously?
