“Take advantage of your health before your illness.”

For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah reminds us that time is one of Allah’s greatest gifts, alongside health and free time. Every day that passes is a part of our life that cannot return, so we should use it for what benefits us in this world and the next. Faith naturally rises and falls, but we can keep returning to Allah through prayer, remembrance, learning, and good responsibilities. Our prayers should shape our schedules, while family and work can also become meaningful when we remember Allah during them. We should ask Allah to bless our time, health, and wealth.

  1. What is one part of your day that you could use more purposefully?
  2. How could prayer help organize your schedule this week?
  3. What ordinary activity could you turn into a moment of remembering Allah?
