For the dinner table

Today's khutbah reminded us to think well of Allah and build a close connection with Him. The khateeb encouraged us to ask Allah for everything, from guidance and forgiveness to help with the smallest everyday needs. He shared stories of prophets who turned to Allah through grief, illness, and difficult trials. He reminded us to make dua with attentive hearts and keep asking even when we do not see an answer right away. An answer may come as what we requested, protection from a calamity, or reward in the next life. We can make time to speak to Allah each day and give Him our attention amid the distractions around us.

  1. What small thing could you ask Allah to help you with tomorrow?
  2. Which prophet's story from the khutbah stayed with you, and why?
  3. What could help our family make a little quiet time for dua?
