For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah reminded us that Muslims facing hardship are part of our wider family, and our concern should lead to learning and useful action. Each of us can contribute according to our abilities while appreciating what others do. Being a role model starts with our own prayer, Quran, remembrance of Allah, and care for people around us. The khateeb encouraged families to listen to one another, make dua for those suffering, and give charity together, even in small amounts. We can feel sadness while holding on to hope in Allah and continuing to do good.

  1. What could we do together this week to help someone who is struggling?
  2. What would you like to understand better about the people we make dua for?
  3. How could you help someone at school or the masjid feel included?
