Talk about it at home
For the dinner table
The khutbah teaches that a mosque is much more than a room for prayer. The Prophet built a mosque at the beginning of the Muslim community, and it became a place for learning, friendship, decisions, worship, and family life. Caring for the mosque and loving to attend it are described as ways to receive Allah's reward. We should come in clean, good-smelling, appropriate clothing, silence our phones, and wear a mask to protect others. We should also make the mosque welcoming for children and the next generation.
- What is one thing our mosque can teach or provide besides prayer?
- How can we help younger children feel welcome at the mosque?
- Which mosque habit can we improve this week?
