Talk about it at home

For the dinner table

The khutbah teaches that Islam gives us a responsibility to help establish justice, both in daily relationships and in society. When choices are difficult and every option seems imperfect, we should research carefully and choose the path that causes less harm. We should vote with a sincere intention to please Allah, not merely to support a party or candidate, and accept that outcomes remain in Allah’s control. We are encouraged to act whenever we can rather than becoming helpless because we cannot control the result. During this critical time, we should also make dua, increase worship, and strengthen our relationship with Allah.

  1. Where can we practice justice at home or school this week?
  2. How can we keep doing good when we cannot control the outcome?
  3. What does it mean to make a decision with the intention of pleasing Allah?
