For the dinner table

The khateeb described getting into a very hot car and immediately thinking about the heat people will face on the Day of Judgment. He reminded us that people will be under the sun for a thousand years, with no shade except what Allah provides. In this life, Allah gives us ways to protect ourselves, such as air conditioning, cars, and cold water. Even a simple drink of water is a ni'mah, or blessing, from Allah. We should notice these blessings, thank Allah for them, and let them motivate us to prepare for the Hereafter.

  1. What is one comfort you used today that you can thank Allah for?
  2. How can a hot day remind us to think about the Hereafter?
  3. What small blessing do you think people often forget to appreciate?
