Let marriage lead both spouses to Jannah

“Everything you do in this worldly life should all be aimed towards Jannah.”

The khateeb, at 8:53

For the dinner table

The khateeb invited us to think about what we are really working toward in life. School, work, money, and relationships can all serve a greater purpose when we use them to seek Allah’s pleasure and Jannah. He described Jannah as a place of joy without sadness or jealousy, and meeting Allah as the greatest success. He explained that marriage is a way for two people to help each other toward that goal through prayer, charity, patience, and encouragement. Before trying to change someone else, he reminded us to look honestly at our own actions and begin improving ourselves.

  1. How could something you already do each day become a way to please Allah?
  2. What stood out to you about the khateeb’s description of Jannah?
