For the dinner table

The khutbah reminds us that Muslims should care about the Hereafter as seriously as they care about careers, money, and worldly success. We should not be satisfied with doing only the minimum when we can grow closer to Allah through extra prayer, charity, and sincere effort. At the same time, our efforts do not earn Paradise by themselves; we depend entirely on Allah's mercy. The examples of Musa and Maryam show that Allah asks us to do what we can, even when our effort seems small. We should keep the Hereafter in mind, repent sincerely, and ask Allah for goodness in both worlds.

  1. What does doing your best for Allah look like in your daily life?
  2. Why do you think Allah values effort even when it seems small?
