Quotes
In the khateeb's words
“The message of Islam is very important. It's to fix that deviations and to preserve the path of the Prophets, all the Prophets, exemplified by the Prophet Muhammad SallAllahu Alaihi Wasallam.”
“Pay attention to the message. The message is very important. The substance. Not the form. The substance.”
Talk about it at home
For the dinner table
The khateeb reminded us that Allah sends guidance out of mercy and that we should follow it faithfully. He explained that Al-Fatiha brings together the Qur'an's central message: praising Allah, remembering His mercy and the Hereafter, worshipping Him, and asking for His help and guidance. He warned against bending religious teachings to suit our own wishes or knowing what is right without acting on it. He encouraged us to think about the meaning and purpose behind our religious practices. He also reminded us that loving the Prophet means learning his message and showing that love through obedience and everyday actions.
- What could help you think about the meaning of Al-Fatiha when you pray?
- What is one good teaching you know that you could act on tomorrow?
- How could you show love for the Prophet in the way you treat someone this week?
