Why Allah deserves more than leftover worship

“Allah being Allah makes Him worthy of that worship.”

The khateeb, at 9:24

For the dinner table

Imam Saif asked us to think about the messages we absorb and whether our lives center on our own wishes or on knowing, loving, and worshiping Allah. He reminded us that Allah deserves our worship because of who He is, even when things do not turn out as we hoped. Our studies, work, and dreams can all fit within seeking Allah’s pleasure. That purpose also shows in how kindly we treat our parents, children, neighbors, and people we disagree with. Staying on this path takes clear understanding and patient practice: continuing in worship, resisting wrong actions, and holding on through life’s ups and downs.
