For the dinner table

The imam reminded us that the last ten nights of Ramadan are a special opportunity to seek Allah’s mercy and the reward of Laylatul Qadr. He described how the Prophet increased his worship during these nights and woke his family to pray. He encouraged us to care for our families’ worship too, with patience. Even if we cannot spend the whole night worshiping, we can set aside time for prayer, remembering Allah, making dua, and reading the Quran. He reminded us that we need Allah and can turn back to Him even when we have fallen short. He also urged everyone to remember zakat al-fitr and pay it promptly before the Eid prayer.

  1. What could we do together to make the last ten nights of Ramadan feel special?
  2. How would you like someone to encourage you when you find worship difficult?
  3. What would you like to ask Allah for in dua tonight?
