For the dinner table

Allah has given us blessings such as safety, health, food, wealth, time, and even our phones. The khutbah teaches us to recognize that every blessing comes from Allah, thank Him for it, and appreciate what we already have. We should avoid waste, value food, and be content instead of constantly comparing what we have with what others have. We must also use our health, money, time, and technology in ways that obey Allah, because sin can strip blessings of their barakah. A simple way to begin is to say alhamdulillah after meals and drinks, when waking, and throughout the day.

  1. What is one blessing you often overlook?
  2. How can our family waste less food this week?
  3. How could you use your phone or free time in a way Allah loves?
