For the dinner table

The khutbah teaches that the shahadah is a living commitment, not only words we repeat. We grow it by learning about Allah and His names, knowing the Prophet’s life, becoming certain, truthful, sincere, loving, accepting, and willing to submit. That commitment should shape prayer, voluntary worship, family and work behavior, and the way we handle hardship. It also includes responsible community participation: investigate people seeking local positions and vote as thoughtfully as possible. After making a sincere effort, we leave the result to Allah and ask Him to guide and forgive us.

  1. What is one name of Allah you want to learn more about, and how might it change your week?
  2. Where could our family make our actions match our words more honestly?
  3. How can we investigate and choose community leaders responsibly while trusting Allah with the result?
