For the dinner table

The khutbah reminds us that every person will face Allah’s scales on the Day of Judgment. Allah will account for even the smallest deed, but He is also generous: good deeds can be multiplied, and leaving a sin for His sake can be rewarded. No one can carry another person’s burden, so we should take responsibility for how we treat people and make amends when we cause harm. Along with our required worship, extra prayer, fasting, charity, and remembrance can strengthen us. When the world feels overwhelming, we should do our responsibilities faithfully, avoid despair, and keep praying for people suffering in places such as Palestine and Gaza.
