For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah encouraged us to make Surah Al-Kahf part of our weekly routine and reflect on the tests it describes. The khateeb focused on the young people of the cave, who took steps to protect their faith and received Allah’s protection. He also told the story of a wealthy garden owner whose pride led him to look down on his companion and forget that his blessings could disappear. The reminder for us is to enjoy what Allah gives us with humility, and to seek His forgiveness while working to change our mistakes. Wealth and children are precious parts of life, but remembering Allah helps us place our hopes beyond things that will not last forever.

  1. What is one small step you could take this week to strengthen your faith?
