For the dinner table

The khutbah reminded us that Allahu Akbar means Allah is greater than everything, including our work, wealth, desires, fears, and egos. We repeat these words throughout prayer and other acts of worship, but we should also understand them and carry their meaning in our hearts. Looking at the vastness of creation can help us recognize Allah’s greatness and become more humble. When Allah comes first, it becomes easier to leave sin, rise for Fajr, pause our business for prayer, and face hardship with trust. The khateeb encouraged us to keep this meaning at the front of our minds and let it guide every decision.
