Prepare your iman for future trials
“Your iman will be on the line.”
The signs of the Last Day are warnings meant to prepare believers to protect their iman through future trials, not a checklist for prediction.
The khutbah in 6 steps
- Hadith compilations provide guidance for every aspect of life.
- Fitna tests the purity and sincerity of iman, illustrated through the change of qiblah and the Battle of Ahzab.
- The speaker introduces Dajjal and other end-time signs while affirming that their timing belongs only to Allah.
- End-time signs should prompt preparation rather than checklist-style speculation, illustrated through a weather-forecast analogy.
- Escalating trials can threaten belief rapidly, so believers should strengthen yaqeen and remembrance of Allah.
- The khutbah concludes by urging believers to prepare themselves and future generations through learning and faith.
In the khateeb's words
“These Are Not Mentioned By The Messenger Of Allah As A Mere Checklist That You Go Through”
“The Signs That The Messenger Of Allah Sallallahu Aleyhi Sallam Mentioned They're Not There For Us To Just Simply Have Academic Exercise And Just Think About Them For The Sake Of Them They're There To Warn The Ummah”
“Your Iman Will Be On The Line In One Hadith The Prophet Sallallahu Aleyhi Sallam Says That The Fitan Will Come It Will Come Like The Parts Of The Night”
“I Am Going To Make Sure That I Am Ready I Am Going To Make Sure That If It Happens In The Lifetime Of My Children They Are Ready”
For the dinner table
The khateeb taught that Allah and His Messenger gave guidance for both this life and the Hereafter, including warnings about trials. He explained that trials test the purity and sincerity of our iman, using the change of qiblah and the Battle of Ahzab as examples. The signs of the Last Day, especially the trial of Dajjal, are meant to make us ready, not to become a checklist or a reason to predict dates, which only Allah knows. We should strengthen our certainty in Allah, keep His remembrance close during hardship, and prepare our children and future generations to protect their faith.
- What is one way our family can strengthen our iman this week?
- Why should we learn about difficult future events without becoming obsessed with guessing dates?
- How can we help younger children stay close to Allah during stressful times?
