Today’s khutbah taught that Allah honored the Ummah of Prophet Muhammad with a special responsibility. That honor comes through believing in Allah, practicing faith, encouraging what is right, and resisting what is wrong. The khateeb reminded us that believers who stay patient during difficult and corrupt times can receive great reward. He pointed to people in Palestine and the surrounding region as examples of steadfastness. He also encouraged us to strengthen our local mosque community through prayer, learning, participation, and giving.
