For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah encouraged us to learn Allah’s names thoughtfully so we can better understand who our Lord is. The khateeb focused on Allah’s mercy and explained that His mercy governs His anger. He reminded us to seek what we need from Allah and use the gifts He has given us to seek His pleasure. Our thankfulness should lead us to help others and show compassion when they are hurting. As a family, we can put this reminder into practice through willing obedience, kindness, and care for the people around us.

  1. What is one gift from Allah that you could use to help someone this week?
  2. How could you show compassion to a friend who is having a hard day?
  3. What could we do together as a family to help someone who needs support?
