For the dinner table

The khutbah teaches that worldly life is temporary, like vegetation that grows after rain and then dries away. Wealth and children can be blessings, but the lasting treasure is the good we do for Allah. We should use the world without letting it own our hearts, spending our limited time on worship, remembrance, charity, prayer, and learning. The speaker especially urged families to attend classes and circles of knowledge because a nourished heart helps us face life’s tests. We should prepare to meet Allah by turning from entertainment and envy toward faith and enduring good deeds.
