Muslims should benefit their communities
“We actually do bring benefit to this country.”

Quotes
In the khateeb's words
“People at work, they try to make themselves assimilate And make themselves seem less Muslim So that they can blend in”
“Does this Muslim person Does he come to work on time? How does he treat his co-workers?”
“You have time to volunteer You have time to go And benefit these other people In whatever capacity That you have”
“We actually do bring Benefit to this country We're not just here To milk the resources And to leave”
Talk about it at home
For the dinner table
Today’s khutbah reminded us that Muslims should not hide who they are or answer hostility with hostility. We should let Islam be seen through kindness, honesty, good manners, and care for neighbors of every faith. The examples of Thumama, Abu Bakr, and Uthman showed how faith can make the places where we live better for everyone. In Memphis, each of us can use our time, work, skills, and resources to serve people around us.
- How can our family show Islam through our actions at school, work, or home?
- What problem in our community could we help solve?
