For the dinner table

The khateeb reminded us on Eid that Ramadan seemed to pass in a moment, and our whole life is made from moments like these. Time becomes valuable when we fill it with prayer, fasting, charity, truth, kindness, and remembrance of Allah. We should protect our free time from lying, backbiting, slander, and other disobedience, while patiently encouraging one another toward goodness. The sermon encouraged us to continue after Ramadan, including fasting six days of Shawwal, because Allah can place great blessing in sincere worship. Eid is also a day to enjoy with our children and share joy, love, and generosity.
