Remember Allah before you are forgotten

“One of the most beautiful things about Jannah is that even though we didn't earn it but Allah makes us feel as though we deserved it.”

The khateeb, at 20:48

For the dinner table

The khutbah reminded us that people naturally want to be noticed, appreciated, and remembered. But attention from people is temporary, because everyone eventually disappears from worldly memory. Allah teaches us to turn our hearts and minds back toward Him and to live gratefully according to His guidance. When we remember Allah sincerely, He promises to remember us and acknowledge our efforts in the hereafter. This week, we can pause before our actions and ask whether they are pleasing to Allah.

  1. What is one way we sometimes seek attention, and how could we seek Allah’s pleasure instead?
  2. What quiet good deed could you do this week without needing anyone to notice?
