For the dinner table

The khutbah reminded us that a person's past does not have to decide their ending. We should live between hope in Allah's mercy and fear of going astray, while working toward a good final state. Umar ibn al-Khattab showed how courage and strong character can become a force for good when guided by Islam and knowledge. For ourselves and our children, we need both good manners and sound understanding, not religious identity alone. We can build that by learning from the Sahaba and reflecting each day on even one Quran verse.
