For the dinner table

Allah chooses certain people, places, and times for special blessings. The khutbah teaches that the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah are among the greatest days of the year because they bring together prayer, fasting, charity, and other forms of worship. We should use these days to become more conscious of Allah and avoid sin. Our first priority is to fulfill the duties Allah has already given us, including prayer and responsibilities toward family and neighbors. After that, we can add voluntary worship such as extra prayer, night prayer, fasting, and charity.

  1. What special time would you like to prepare for, and how?
  2. Which responsibility at home or school could you improve first?
  3. What extra act of worship would you like to try during the ten days?
