Talk about it at home

For the dinner table

Ustadh Mohammad Bajour reminded us that children are an amanah, a trust from Allah that parents will be asked about. He encouraged parents to live Islam at home, teach their children, and help them find good company while making dua for them. He shared five Quranic duas about prayer, protection, good offspring, joy in our families, and righteousness for future generations. When change takes time, he urged families to remain patient and consistent and to pray for their children’s guidance with mercy. He also encouraged young people to seek their parents’ duas and asked parents to let their children hear the loving prayers they make for them.

  1. What could we do together to make prayer a more meaningful part of our day?
  2. What would you like us to ask Allah for on your behalf?
  3. How can we show mercy to each other when someone makes a mistake?
